Bill Burr is the greatest.

Yeah, that first bit. I often wonder, as I zip past on coming traffic at 60mph, why do I trust all those people? Any one of them could just jerk the wheel and kill us both.

That crazy stuff actually happened near me this summer. I’m a firm believer that the black line between crazy and sane is actually a large stripe of gray that wiggles back and forth everyday.

(sigh) that sounded like the conversation I had with Mrs McMike about Road Towel Rescue.

“You washed it in our washing machine?”

Love Burr, he and Greg Giraldo do (did) the best versions of “obnoxious Yankee comic” bits of the modern era (That’s just my nickname for the throwback genre of comically abrasive humor, a la Lewis Black). Also: RIP, Greg.

Among the other current acts, I also love John Mulaney, Paul F. Tompkins, Hannibal Burress, Gary Gulman, and Jim Gaffigan, but probably my favorite comic/monologist of all time is Mike Birbiglia. Pure genius.

Hannibal Buress is my spirit human. His apple juice bit always kills me laughing

Birbiglia’s delivery bothers me a little but I still like him.

PFT is always better dressed than he is funny. He was on Drunk History last week. I was laughing so hard

Yeah, Birbiglia can overdo his “clumsy goofball” bit a little too much, but I’ve enjoyed hearing him evolve as a comic.

Thanks for the link on PFT. I’ve only recognized a couple people from that show, including Kyle Kinane (whose act is pretty solid). I’d call him my second tier.

PFT got me hooked on his Made Men’s Speakeasy series. Now he’s leaving it in the hands of (the very capable and hilarious also) Russell Peters

Reggie Watts was my favorite interview

I don’t have cable — so for better or worse, almost all of my exposure to these guys is through Pandora or YouTube. That means I miss a lot of their stuff. On the plus side, it’s usually their “A material” so my image of them isn’t tainted by all of their many, often mediocre TV projects. Thanks for the links :D

He’s up there with Jim Gaffigan and Russell Peters.

Jim isn’t funny. Russell is good, not great
